I was born in Carlisle and went to schools in the local area. When I left secondary school, I was offered an apprenticeship in hospitality with a local bistro/restaurant. Through this I gained valuable and transferrable skills working in many aspects of the business. During this time, I gained an understanding of food values, calorific numbers and nutrition along with catering for a variety of dietary needs.
I have for a long time had an interest in healthy eating and keeping fit, both through my previous jobs and personal life. I decided that a career change into the fitness industry was where I wanted to be, so I enrolled on a course at an accredited training college in Liverpool. This was extremely hard for me as I had to leave my dog behind. However, studying face to face and in a practical environment was well worth it and, I feel, it is far more beneficial than receiving an online qualification.
I am a qualified level 2 Gym Instructor and Level 3 Personal Trainer. This enables me to share my knowledge and to work closely with people to help them gain a better understanding of how to become healthier and fitter, along with making this process enjoyable. I have a good understanding of the human body, allowing me to develop a personalised workout programme that benefits all muscles groups, through exercise. I fully understand the value of eating well, with the food you enjoy, while losing fat and developing muscle and strength. I am able to advise and support you to understand food value and nutrition when you are planning your own meals.
I am currently studying both Exercise Referral plus Nutrition for Weight Management and Athletic Performance in order to broaden my knowledge, and extend the provision I can offer to my clients.
I have had a personal trainer myself so I fully understand the thoughts and needs of the client when starting the journey of a healthier, happier you.
Here at EJM Fitness I offer many different packages to make sure I have something for everyone.

My aim is to provide a comprehensive service and make you feel confident inside and outside the gym.
I will teach you how to train to failure without causing injury, educate you on the progression of a training
plan and give you advice about nutrition to support your own personal goal so then you can sustain your results.

1-1 In-Person Coaching is ideal for everyone, you might be someone new to the gym not quite sure on what to do, you could be experienced in the gym but just need an extra push or you might someone to keep you accountable and motivated, However, even if you are a newbie or experienced you could benefit from it in many ways. It will offer you a chance to learn how to train correctly and eat in the right ways to support your goals.

Group In-Person Coaching is perfect for people who have a training friend/partner or just like having someone to go on the journey with. You can be at different levels of fitness you don't have to be the same as each other, as your plan will include a variation of exercises to still be tailored for each person’s needs. Even if you are newbie or experienced., you will still benefit as it still gives you the opportunity to learn everything you need to know improving your health and fitness.
